1st Sino-European Workshop on Lunar-Based Gravitational Waves Detection

    Gravitational waves observation in deci-Hertz band, which encloses important scientific objectives and could contribute a key portion in the multi-frequency GW landscape, remains an unsolved challenge, and people still seek for optimized mission concepts. Limited by baselines, seismic noises, etc., it is extremely hard for ground-based interferometers (LIGO-like detectors) to reach a high signal-to-noise ratio in the deci-Hertz band. On the other hand, our moon, holding for a quiet, high-vacuum, stable and ultra-low temperature environment (especially in PSR), makes it a potential site for deci-Hertz gravitational wave antennas with great advantages. Several lunar-based gravitational waves detection projects have already been proposed. Among them, the LGWA Collaboration is currently the most developed research team, and some preliminary teams have also been formed in China. This workshop is organized for researchers from both Europe and China in the fields of gravitational wave science, lunar science, gravitational waves detection and payload developments to exchange ideas, deepen their friendship and discuss the possibility of future collaboration.
